Vote for even / odd age groups

Dear Colleagues, We are now ready to vote for the second part of the Shires League structure. There are two options odd or even; whether we begin the season with an even age group or start the season with an odd age group. Option 1 – Even Players represent their county in the league from 01/09/21 at an even age group (eg U12, U14, U16, U18, U20) up to 31/12/21 and complete the season (from 01/01/22 to 30/06/22) at the next odd age group up (eg U12 to U13, U14 to U15, U16 to U17, U18 to U19 and U20 to U21 Name of leagueBirth yearSL U12>132010 or laterSL U14>152008 or laterSL U16>172006 or laterSL U18>192004 or laterSL U20>212002 or later Up to 31/12/21, all even age players will continue playing at the top of their age group in the Shires League whilst the odd age group players will play at the top of their age group in most gold, silver and bronze events. Result of the alignment vote

Dear Colleagues, Many thanks for your votes. Almost all counties have voted but regrettably it has been a very close call, so quite a number of counties will no doubt be disappointed. Nevertheless, we shall all have to work together to make it a success. Option 2 has the majority with a 18-16 result, which means that the season will start in September and run as it has for the past 20 years. I shall be in touch again shortly with the second part of the vote to decide whether we start the season with an odd or even age group.
